Selected multiple times as the “Best Festival” and “Best Cultural Festival” by Washington City Paper readers, the festival transforms Pennsylvania Avenue into a vibrant showcase of Türkiye’s history, culture, and traditions.

The 2025 festival will feature a wide array of cultural programs and exhibitions. Visitors can enjoy live stage performances including Turkish choirs, singers, Sufi dervish whirling, and traditional folk and belly dancing. These captivating performances will bring the music and spirit of Türkiye to the heart of Washington, DC.

Food lovers will be able to savor authentic Turkish cuisine at the Culinary Pavilion, with specialties such as döner, baklava, pastries, and other traditional dishes. The Grand Bazaar will host more than 40 vendors offering handmade jewelry, textiles, and other artisanal goods.

The Turkish Coffee Tent will provide visitors with the opportunity to experience the rich flavors of Turkish coffee and learn about the cultural practice of coffee fortune-telling. At the Turkish Tea Tent, guests can enjoy hot tea served in traditional tulip-shaped glasses while watching demonstrations of the art of paper marbling (Ebru).

Families are encouraged to bring their children to the Kids Tent, where young festival-goers can enjoy engaging activities such as mosaic making, coloring, crafts, music, dance, and face painting.

Special exhibitions will further enrich the cultural experience. A photo exhibition by Turkish artist Resul Çelik will feature striking images of landscapes, historical landmarks, and portraits from Türkiye. Additional exhibitions include “The Art of Copper: 10,000 Years in Anatolia,” showcasing the history of copper craftsmanship, and a Turkish carpet display curated by Haldun Tarhan, highlighting the artistry and beauty of traditional handwoven carpets.

The festival will also present demonstrations of the mesmerizing art of Ebru (paper marbling) by artist Sabiha Özgür, along with botanical art exhibitions by Kezban Sayar Yağız, whose work bridges science and traditional illumination techniques.
